The customer
FASTCOM Technology SA announces the completion of several projects with e-shelter security GmbH for the security of data centers in Zurich, Berlin, and Frankfurt, among other locations.
With over 20 years of experience, e-shelter security implements holistic security solutions for critical infrastructure companies. This involves intelligently networking the best security systems, from fire alarm and video technology to access control. Danger management is carried out from its own certified emergency and service call centers.

The Challenge
For data center security, reliable control of personnel access and brought-in materials is crucial. One challenge is to organize the access process for authorized personnel quickly and efficiently without allowing unauthorized access. Luggage and material transport should be possible both separately and in combination with personnel access. At the same time, it is important to ensure efficient processing of alarms around the clock.
The solution
To ensure safe and efficient personnel and material flows into defined security areas, SMACS Flex and SMACS Mat lock technology is used. This allows personnel and material flows to be integrated into two- or multi-door airlocks without additional construction measures in the existing infrastructure. The FASTCOM system also takes into account special requirements for people with disabilities. SMACS can realize airlock sizes of over 15m² and provides special operating modes, e.g., for cleaning and emergency exits. „With the SMACS solutions, the requirements of TÜV-IT as well as specific customer requirements for personnel and material flows can be optimally implemented within the existing structural conditions. We combine these with enterprise-level access control systems and two-factor authentication using biometrics,“ says Karsten Kruszynski, Solution Architect at e-shelter security.
